On July 31, 2024, the Vamanapuram Farmer Producer Company (FPC) conducted an entrepreneurship workshop at the Pazhavila Yoga Center in Parakal. The event focused on providing local farmers with essential knowledge regarding business development and financial resources.
The workshop commenced with an inaugural address by Mulakam Ward Member, Mrs. Geetha Kumari. Subsequently, Mrs. Aparna, Senior District Resource Person from the Industries Department, delivered a comprehensive session on entrepreneurship, outlining pertinent government schemes and business growth opportunities. This segment aimed to equip farmers with the foundational knowledge required for effective business management.
Following this, representatives from Canara Bank provided detailed information on available loan facilities and financial planning strategies, addressing the financial requirements of the farming community. Mr. Ratheesh V R, Chairman of Vamanapuram FPC, presented an overview of the company’s initiatives, emphasizing its role in promoting sustainable agricultural practices and facilitating business opportunities for its members.
Mr. Prasanth P V, a former agriculture officer representing CISSA, addressed farmer inquiries and distributed share certificates, reinforcing member participation and ownership within the FPC. Demonstrations of modern agricultural equipment were provided by Husqvarna Company, showcasing technologies designed to enhance farming efficiency and productivity.
The workshop facilitated knowledge transfer and provided practical guidance to farmers, contributing to the development of entrepreneurial skills and financial literacy. By fostering collaboration between farmers, industry experts, and financial institutions, the Vamanapuram FPC aims to strengthen the agricultural sector and promote sustainable economic growth within the region.
