The Vamanapuram Farmer Producer Company (FPC) recently gained significant recognition at the 50th anniversary celebrations of Mitraniketan Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) in Thiruvananthapuram. The “Suvarna Samridhi” event, marking the KVK’s golden jubilee, celebrated farmers dedicated to sustainable and integrated agricultural practices.

A highlight of the event was the conferral of the “Fellow Farmer KVK Trivandrum” title upon Mr. Anilkumar T., a valued member of the Vamanapuram FPC. This prestigious recognition acknowledged Mr. Anilkumar’s exemplary success in integrated farming, a feat achieved with the support and guidance of Mitraniketan KVK. His journey serves as a compelling example of how scientific farming methods, coupled with community-driven initiatives, can yield substantial results. Notably, through KVK’s training and expertise, Mr. Anilkumar effectively doubled his income between 2018 and 2022, demonstrating the tangible benefits of integrated farming in enhancing both productivity and profitability.

Beyond individual accolades, the event also celebrated the collective contributions of 101 farmers engaged in integrated farming practices. These farmers were honored through a dedicated award ceremony, receiving plaques and certificates in recognition of their commitment to sustainable agriculture. Their dedication plays a crucial role in bolstering the district’s agricultural landscape, ensuring sustainable growth and food security. The recognition underscores the importance of ongoing support and training from institutions like Mitraniketan KVK, which empowers farmers to adopt innovative techniques and contribute to the region’s agricultural prosperity. The Vamanapuram FPC’s presence and Mr. Anilkumar’s achievement at this landmark event highlight the positive impact of collaborative agricultural efforts and the vital role of farmer producer organizations in driving sustainable development.
